Quadrajets built in 1968 or later have the carburetor number stamped on the driver's side above the secondary throttle shaft on the float bowl. From 1965 to 1967 the carb number was on an round aluminum 'bottle cap' on the left side of the float bowl near the front. This tag is often missing, making identification more difficult.
The Rochester carburetor number is on the first line. The first item on the second line is the build date code, and the last item is the assembly line code.

1967 and earlier carbs usually have a tag only.
Rochester Monojet carbs are also stamped on the side of the float bowl.
Dualjet 2 barrel carbs are usually stamped on the rear of the float bowl.
