About The Carburetor Doctor

The Carburetor Doctor is a family-owned business dedicated to providing the highest-quality parts for carburetors used on cars, trucks, boats, tractors and industrial equipment. We stock over 1800 different carb kits, choke coils, floats and choke pull offs as well as many other parts for US-made carburetors from 1923 onward. We carry an extensive line of Made-in-USA Zenith carburetors and parts.

Online since December, 2005, The Carburetor Doctor website grew out of my experience restoring carburetors. Although I'm no longer doing that as an occupation, I am still on tap for technical help. In fact, I have spent over 30 years building carburetors, collecting books, articles and manuals on American-built carburetors and vehicles, and tabulating that knowledge into an on-line catalogue that both car enthusiasts and people who just need their machine to run, can use to find the parts and information they need. That is why our website, which I have built myself from the ground up, resembles an extensive encyclopedia of carburetor information.

This latest version of our website has taken more than 18 months of working almost every day to add new information and products, correct previous mistakes, and make it even easier to find what you need. Some original information that is commonly available contains mistakes that have been passed along for decades and part of my work has been to discover those mistakes and correct them.

So to the question “Can I be sure this part is correct for my carburetor?” the answer is almost certainly, “Yes”. If you have one of the rare carburetors I have not come across yet, that’s great! I will add it to the database and try to find parts for it.

We make sure the parts we sell are correct, in stock, shipped promptly, with the expert knowledge to back them up, at a reasonable price.

Besides accuracy, we at The Carburetor Doctor prioritize customer service. Your calls and emails are answered or returned by myself, Laura or Leah - we don't outsource calls or use AI agents. We make every effort to get you the correct part, made from the best quality materials available, almost always American-made, and shipped out as quickly as possible. But, unlike other online stores, we are not a drop-shipper. We own our inventory and try to keep everything in stock. Sometimes delays are caused by supply chain issues but we try to keep the customer informed.

If you have an issue with our products or service, please contact us first, we want to correct it. We offer technical support at no charge to our customers. If you need technical support for products bought elsewhere, please contact that supplier. If you need to get the correct parts to replace parts bought elsewhere, we are happy to help you find what you need. We also offer an extensive line of carburetor manuals with specific technical information for most models, especially useful when you buy parts from another supplier that does not provide technical support.
