Built in the United States by the manufacturer that has supplied OEMs and the aftermarket with premium choke thermostats for decades. Services M4ME, M2ME, E4ME, E2ME, M4MED, E4MED, M4MEF carbs. Uses the orginal GM L-shaped spade connector (). Can also be used to replace old hot air choke thermostats. The electrical ground is through the body, so install without a gasket. Requires power whenever the engine is running. Many late 1970s and 1980s GM vehicles have wiring in place for an electric choke, or have a location on the fuse box for one.
If your old electric choke isn't hot to the touch within about 3 minutes of the engine running, the internal heater element is burnt out. You can also test the resistance between the power terminal and ground. This should be a few ohms (3-8 ohms approx), depending on temperature, definitely not zero or infinite. Restore original fit, function and appearance with one of our new premium electric choke thermostat assemblies.
