Holley 2300, 4150/4160 and 4180 models usually have the carburetor number stamped on the front of the choke tower.
The Ford number is on the first line, the Holley List number on the second line and the build date code on the third:

Holley 2140 and 4000 carbs are stamped on the rear face of the mounting flange. Ford carbs are typically stamped with a Ford number and the Holley list number.
ECU-9510-E: The Ford carb number. This can be shortened to ECU-E, since all Ford carbs are part # 9510.
LIST 1094-4: The Holley number, typically cataloged as R-1094-4.
This one is from a 1956 Lincoln or Continental.
